Mayan headdresses
Important Mayan people wore headdresses and the larger the headdress, the more important you were in Mayan society. They were made out of wood, feathers (macaws and the quetzal bird), jaguar skins, shells and stones such as jade and obsidian.
Longshaw children have been working hard in their art lessons to create beautiful Mayan headdresses using paper and feathers. I think our headdresses show that we would have been royalty.
